Sinclair PTO is excited to bring Ready to Grow Gardens to Sinclair as a science enrichment program for the 2023 – 2024 school year. Each class will have a chance to visit the garden 9 times during the school year, working with a garden teacher that will lead students in fun, educational experiences that align with science TEKS and allow all of our students to gain hands-on gardening experience while connecting with nature.
October 2023 Update
It’s been a very welcomed rainy start to October and our Ready to Grow Gardens Program is moving along. This week was the first of the October garden days and we’ll have 2 more on October 17th and 18th. We have most all garden beds sprouting and a few classes were able to get outside this week to help with our first harvest. All students will have an opportunity to harvest and sample one or more of the vegetables growing in our gardens. We have quite the variety including purple radishes, broccoli, cauliflower, spinach and other herbs and vegetables! We’ll have more varieties in the spring.
October garden days also include learning about monarch butterflies. A big “Thank you!” to Bella with Ready to Grow Gardens and Sinclair staff and parents for supporting this enrichment program funded by your generous donations to PTO!
