Book Character Day Parade

All students and teachers are encouraged to dress as their favorite book character and they join in the parade around Sinclair celebrating books and literacy.

Every class will participate and parents are invited to cheer and take pictures along the parade route. Students are encouraged to pick literary characters and should bring the book featuring the character they are dressed as.

When planning your student’s costume, please keep in mind that capes must be above knee level, and hoods, hats and ornamental masks that cover the entire face will only be permitted during our parade; students will be asked to remove these pieces during instruction. Weapons of any kind are not allowed and depictions of weapons are not allowed.

Students will still be attending PE and recess during the day so please keep that in mind when selecting a costume. For our younger students, please make sure their costume still allows them to be bathroom independent.

Due to construction the parade route will be modified this year. Students will exit the blue doors on the Manville side, head down the covered walkway, turn right and continue toward the front of the school toward the kinder gate. Students will go through the kinder gate then make a right to walk around the blue top.
